Mr. Tatum has a variety of experience in alternative dispute resolution, including:

Arbitration

On the American Arbitration Association commercial arbitration panel since the early 1990’s.

Mediation

Has been a member of the U.S. Institute for Environmental Conflict Resolution (USIECR) panel Environmental Conflict Resolution Professionals since the panel was established in 1998. 

He is also a facilitative mediator for courts in Michigan, a volunteer mediator for the Oakland County Circuit Court, and is a volunteer at the Wayne Mediation Center.

In addition, Mr. Tatum is co-author of the Alternative Dispute Resolution chapter of the Michigan Environmental Law Deskbook being written by the Michigan State Bar, Environment Law Section.

Environmental Mediation

U.S. Institute for Environmental Conflict Resolution
The 1998 Environmental Policy and Conflict Resolution Act (P.L. 105-156) created the
U.S. Institute for Environmental Conflict Resolution to assist parties in resolving environmental conflicts around the country that involve federal agencies or interests. The Institute provides a neutral place inside the federal government but "outside the Beltway" where public and private interests can reach common ground.
